AD/HD Attention Deficit with/without Hyperactivity Disorder

What is attention deficit disorder?

There are three types of this disorder:

  • Primarily Inattentive
  • Primarily Hyperactive-Impulsive
  • Combined Form

Approximately 8-10% of all children and adults are affected by the disorder. Children with ADD/ADHD may have difficulties in school, home, and other activities. ADD/ADHD in adults often goes undiagnosed and can cause problems on the job, in relationships, and with other daily functions. The effects of this disorder also extend to their parents, families, teachers, classmates, friends, and co-workers.

The symptoms of ADD/ADHD and related disorders may result in the consequences of poor self-esteem, academic underachievement, and/or behavior problems, as well as work and relationship problems later in life. Do you know the common ADD/ADHD signs in children? Do you know what ADHD treatments are available to you or your child who has attention deficit disorder?

Individuals with ADD/ADHD typically have a higher than average I.Q. and the sadness and frustration brought about by the inability to express this and/or behavior problems which are not under their control, is painful to watch. Parents want to help but may feel frustrated when they are unable to or don’t know what to do.

Additionally, parents and teachers often experience these same feelings as they struggle to help those with this disorder. Disruption of family dynamics and strain put on parents by the feelings of anger, frustration, and undeserved guilt are often present. The solution for your family lies in neurofeedback, a drug-free, safe, non-invasive, and painless procedure from Alta Neuro-Imaging Neurofeedback.
